What an awesome hidden gem for Mexican food! I literally thought I was in CDMX for a second as I pulled up. Great service, great food, and at a great price. Will definitely be coming back and bringing friends. Shoutout to Sofia for everything!

First time here food is good if you don’t feel like cooking at home. i had the huevos rancheros their salsa is good. The pozole and agua de jamaica is good as well. Good prices and great customer service. They are pretty busy so expect to wait a bit .

We had a family of 7- three moms and teenagers. Some, picky eaters. We drove past this spot and tried it out. We walked in and it was full of Latinos (good sign). We ordered the breakfast tacos and they were delicious- with fresh flour tortillas. I mean DELICIOUS! The restaurant allowed for custom orders for the breakfast tacos (yay for the picky eaters). We also ordered the carnitas tacos and the kitchen made sure to crisp up the carnitas- which is amazing! Not everyone does that. The family that runs the restaurant is SO NICE. We are debating breakfast this morning. We want to try a new restaurant but yesterday's breakfast was so good- we want it again! Note: We are all foodies. Just came back from two weeks in Vietnam. We love good food... and we love La Moderna! Going back to Philly happy! SECOND Note: one other review said the food was lacking flavor. I think she meant the food wasn't salty- which it isn't. We ordered breakfast tacos- it's eggs, potatoes, and chorizo. No sauce on this dish. Just fresh ingredients folded together with a little pepper and salt. Now, I did agree with another reviewer that said the table sauces weren't hot. I would like to see a spicy version! THIRD Note: I think this restaurant doesn't have a lot of reviews is because many of the patrons are Latinos and don't do the Yelp or Google thing. The ones that are reviewing aren't the main clientele.

I’ve been coming to La Moderna MX for over a year now, and it truly feels like one of the best-kept secrets in the neighborhood. Just down the street from where I live, this small, family-owned gem serves some of the most authentic Mexican food I’ve had in Dallas. Over time, the owners have become like family to me—not just because I eat here two to three times a week, but because of the warmth and hospitality they show every time I walk through the door. The tortillas are always incredibly fresh, the breakfast tacos are made to order and absolutely amazing, and the picadillo beef is easily some of the best I’ve tasted anywhere. While I personally don’t eat menudo, a friend of mine swears by it and says it’s the most authentic he’s had in the city. La Moderna MX is the definition of a neighborhood hole-in-the-wall—humble, welcoming, and rich in flavor. Every visit feels like a quick escape to a quiet bodega in a village in Mexico. We’re lucky to have a place like this in our community.

Cute little Mexican place. The food was very fresh and delicious. I will definitely come back and try their aguas frescas and other entrees. The tortillas are homemade and the pricing is affordable. The waitress was really nice and sweet. The coffee was really good and a great spot for brunch and breakfast. I ordered the huevos rancheros my mom had the huevos con jamón. They were both good options.

Absolutely fantastic!! This was our first visit with my family visiting from out of state. Las Gordita are Delicious! They also offer homemade tortillas and fresh aguas. Emphasis on fresh because some aguas frescas are made using a powder. This agua was made with fresh hibiscus. Todo riquísimo!! I’ll absolutely return with more familia!

New spot in the neighborhood. I've gone twice to this place. They do serve you chips and this great tasting warm salsa. Food has been delicious and on point. I do recommend going and visiting this hidden spot in the back of the neighborhood. Thank you,

This place is a hidden gem! I highly recommend the "huevos rancheros" with hand-made corn torrillas. The menudo was a perfect blend of spices and flavor! Next time, I need to try more items from their menu! The owners were very helpful, and the service was awesome!
